The only access settings I have messed with are the ones under the control panel options. I am using XP Embedded because the hard drive I have (its in a thin client computer) is 1 gigabyte. If theres another avenue that would work better (I am extremely familiar with XP, just not XPE.) can you direct me to it?
In regular XP, you can also turn off the windows login by going to the start menu, clicking run, and typing in userpasswords2. Then there should be a box that needs to be unchecked that says something like "Users must enter a username to login"
If that works for you, and xp embedded works, then it is probably worth just sticking with it.
Otherwise, I know you can download
nLite and use a regular version xp. It will step by step ask you what to remove from XP and then allow you to burn onto a new disc that has only these features of xp. I think generally, the size is under 100mb, and if you cut it lean enough, you get easily get it under 50mb. I don't know how much space you can work with, but this forum thread has a lot of info about what to chop off.
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=59373.0I think on page 8, spystyle has a settings file on what he trimmed for his XP that seems to be working well. I haven't tried it, but I think you just need to load his settings file into nlite and it will set everything for you.
Hope that helps!
