Need a bit of info on MAME for the XBOX (resolved)
« on: January 03, 2011, 11:21:18 pm »
I have upgraded the HDD in my XBOX and have reinstalled MAME.  I put the image of C and E back on the drive and opened up F for the extra space.   My problem is that the original xbox had an earlier version of MAME that did not support the NEOGEO roms.   I upgraded to Mamedox Platinum 2 and tried Coinops ignite but the roms like Metal Slug are not picked up.   I noticed that Platinum 2 does not seem to have a rom scan and coinops ignite does not run properly.  THE QUESTION IS. Where are the ROM lists stored so that I can make sure I wipe out all previous traces of of the roms for MAMEOX or MAMEDOX?

The next question is what is the most current version of MAME to run on an XBOX?  There seem to be alot of old releases and I am not sure which one is the most current to run.

Thanks BobA

Got a newer copy of coinops ignite and it runs properly and scans the roms for an update.   Metal Slug progs now running fine.  Seems like this version supports MAME roms at about the .97 release.  There are newer coinops releases but they are very large 10 to 14 gb and download very slowly via torrents as there are only a few seeds.  Too many of the releases have ROMs which could be gotten elsewhere to make the release smaller.
