3d games running really really slow

my mame cab is just running a old windows 200 system from like '01. its does fine on anything 2d put i really want to play star wars trilogy but its like watching a movie in 1/100th slow motion. im not sure what the problem is. even on my 2 year old lap top it plays just as bad

Star Wars Trilogy is not currently emulated per se - I think it might sort of run without sound in some versions of mame. So in other words, no PC is going to run it right now. You can do a search on Star Wars Trilogy here and you'll find a few threads discussing it.

Most 3d games in mame will not run well btw unless you have some pretty beefy hardware. Failing that, you can try faster emulators and console ports.
