Hello everyone,
My name is Stefan, 25 years young and come from the Netherlands.
Been checking this site the last few months.
Enjoyed looking at your cab`s and CP`s!
Before I started checking this site, I build my own mame cab.
For this reason I do not have many pictures of the building in progress.
However did took some pictures left and right and tought it would be fun to share them here.
Kind of scared to be flamed but Iam giving it a go.
Please keep in mind this is the first mame cab I ever did.
The pictures are taken with a older Nokia phone.
Picked up a gutted Masterplay cabinet via my local ebay site. (For free)
Fitted in the car like a charm, it Was a long ride but I just had to have one.
After we stored it in the car and driving home I had many idea`s.
- Change the CP.
- Add art.
- Change marquee.
I never did any of these things as the cab was in pretty good shape.
The original look feels good to me and I would not know what theme to add to the cab.
Also I did not know or making any of these changes to the cab would do it good.
Even my 20 year old cat loves it this way:

The official buttons on the CP still work like a charm.
I had to use some method to hook them up with my PC.
Could have bought a I-pac or something like that.
But instead I went for a keyboard hack because I think it is cheap and fun to do.
(Iam using 3 keyboards in the cab to ensure no ghosting \ blocking.) (1x PS2 + 2x USB)
Did sand down the contacts, took a 1mm drill and drilled trough the PCB on all contacts.
Stuck a wire trough each hole and did solder them to the PCB.
(I think this is a strong way of connecting them, never had any problems and you can not get them lose easy.)

After doing that for each pin this is the result:

Like this I can easily hook them up with my buttons and swap out any buttons and or keys if ever needed.
After getting all buttons working:
- Mounted the 21 inch monitor.
- Installed a new TL light behind the marquee.
- Installed a new lock in the coindoor.
- Made a bezel to cover the monitor.
- Put in a sound system.
- Insert the PC.

I already had hyperspin setup, as I was planning to make a mame cab for quite some time.
This is what it looks like when fired up:

I still think about making a swappable CP.
This because this cab uses a 4 button layout and 7 button layout would be perfect for me.
Let me know what you think again keep in mind this is the first mame cab I did.

Any suggestions are welcome!
I do have one question: Would anyone know what game this cab used to run?
