Poor mans racing sim
« on: August 15, 2003, 05:29:41 pm »
Just figured I'd post a few pictures of my "racing sim".  Basically I just used a computer desk that I already had.  I'm using my surround sound system to add realism (really cool for Need for Speed in Hot Pursuit mode).  I mounted the center speaker to the bottom of the top shelf so I could pull the steering wheel out and have it stay put.  I'm using a force feedback Act-Labs wheel and GPL Shifter.  I know it's far from authentic looking, but I think it comes very close to re-creating the arcade feel.  I plan on purchasing some "Bass Shakers" to complete the effect.
