Mala Vertical Layout Problem

Hi All,

I have a custom Mala layout setup on my bartop I built.  It has a removable monitor that I can rotate.  The layout includes horizontal and vertical versions for each emulator.  The only emulators I need vertical lists for are Mame, Visual & Future pinball.  All the others I have a graphic that displays the phrase "Please Rotate Monitor" signifying that those are horizontal only emulators and the monitor should be in landscape mode.

 In my Mala layout I have the horizontal layout setup with the gamelist, year, snaps etc... in the vertical section I have the background set to my "rotate monitor" graphic and I turned off all other displays.  It seems that no matter what, the gamelist displays in mala even though its not selected in the layout menus.  It doesnt show in the mala layout creation tool but when I'm in Mala it shows the gamelist in the vertical view and I don't want it to. 

Anyone have any ideas how to just show a background in the vertical view in Mala?
