New MAMEWAH Layout Format
« on: August 13, 2003, 11:00:30 pm »
I like the new structured method of the layouts... It's will be better for storing multiple layouts.
I'm having a bit of trouble, I'm using a previously created layout.  I put all files in the \layouts\layoutname directory.... I renamed myfancylayout.lay to layout.lay.  And put the layoutname in the .cfg file.  So, the layout seems to load but I can't get the background to load.
The background shows up when I edit in the layout designer and also works fine the the prior versions of Mamewah.
What could be the problem?

Using XP and did a fresh install to a new directory.

Check out the layouts.txt file in the layout dir.... it describes the changes to names that need to be made.  If you are going to have multiple emulators that have differnet layouts... its best to call it emu?-main.??? where the first ? is the emulator number and the last ??? is the extension. If its the only one you can call it layout-main.???

Since its the 'main' background it must have main in the name.  You can also specify images for the options screen and messages screen too.

If you're using layout.lay as your layout file, your background must be layout-main.xxx <image file>.

Thanks.  I guess I breezed thru the .txt file too quickly.  I'll try to correct this when I get home tonight.
Thanks guys,
