Mounting a TV inside an empty cabinet...newb questions
« on: October 27, 2010, 11:16:13 pm »
I just got a fairly decent TV that was gonna be donated and it got me thinking how I might mount it inside a Mame cabinet. It's a 30" TV, but it doesn't weigh more than 30-40 pounds I'd say. How do you go about mounting a TV? Would my only way of doing it be to rig something up or is there a mounting kit of some kind out there?

is it a crt or a flatscreen lcd ? for lcd tvs u may find some fitting vesa mountings . 30 or 33? inch crt tvs usually weight around 50 kg and are more challenging if u intend to implant them into an arcade.

I'm in this exact same boat as you apfelanni.  I already have a flat screen monitor mounted in my cab by 1X1 and a sheet of MDF.  The 25" TV monitor weights a ton.  I'm gonna have to make bigger, stronger, supports along the insides of the cab and probably have to use bolts from the outside to hold the 2X4's in place.  It's going to be a project for an already complete cab.
