Namco Final Lap / Namco system 2 ?'s
« on: October 20, 2010, 11:12:10 am »
Hey guys, A few weeks ago I picked up a Namco/Atari Final lap sit down dual racing cab.  This was one BIG cab, even with the seat section that seperates from the main cab, I still ended up having to disassemble most of the cabinet to get it into the basement arcade.  (I'll post some pics later)

I'm wondering if anyone has a list of the dipswitch settings for Final lap or another Namco system 2 game??  I found the owners manual on KLOV, but it's for the upright version of the game, and missing any reference to the dipswitches.

thanks
-sac

I have an upright cab that I am still working on finishing up... but I do have a manual and schematic package but there is nothing on dips switch settings other than the plug to select the car type.  Most  if not everything else is set in the self-test (coins per credit, laps, ect)

Hi, thanks for the reply.  Yeah I've tried flipping all the dipswitches, a few of them send it into the config screen, but that's about all I've found.  I was wondering if it was changable from Km to Miles on the display, but I guess not.  Other thing that seemed stange to me is the "Insert Coins" only shows up on one screen.
No big deal though, I cleaned everything up, changed a failing Pot on one of the wheels, and the game is working great, everyone's been having fun with it.   My long term plans are putting 2 old xboxs i have laying around into it and hacking the insides of some xbox steering controllers.  I'm gonna piggy back the electronics on the controllers into the arcade wheels, so I don't ruin the original arcade setup, but can flip a switch and play networked xbox racing games as well.

Yeah all I see in the self test screen is the usual test of controls, coins, sound test.
