Stereoscopic glasses generally don't work very well (at least for my eyes and videocard). I've gone thru about 3 different brands. $49 to $99. None of them were any good.

I had that purple chair at the bottom... the intensor feedback chair. Pretty sweet rumbling bass from the games you're playing. Sound seems to surround you. Extremely uncomfortable, after 30 minutes you've got to walk around.

edit-> just saw the price of the intensor chair :o $199... what a rip off. It was $199 at Sams Club when the company was still in business. I've seen it online for $99 plus shipping.

Do you think that chair would be cool (or even feasible) in a homebrew cockpit cab?

If I did, I wouldn't have given it away  >:(

I would guess it would be cheaper to buy a small amp and some speakers. At least the volume control wouldn't be as touchy. It only had two real settings: too quiet and too loud. Very fine adjustment in between. I was gonna rip the speakers out myself, but google pointed me to someone that already did... they thought the speakers were pretty cheap; and the amp and wiring was difficult to work with.

That is essentially what the do at the BattleTech Centers.

there is a large sub-woofer built into the seat in the Tesla Pods.

working linkey: BattleTech Centers

I have been toying with the idea of a cockpit cab, and was seriously considering mounting whatever subwoofer I end up using to the back of the chair.  That'd provide some good stimulus I think.

Stimulus! lol! All I can think of is the speaker scene in Private Parts.
If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.
