Need some help with Win 7

After a recent reinstall something strange has happened.

All my fixed disks are now in my 'Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media' list and the icon is constantly displayed in the notification area.

How do I tell the system that these disks are fixed and not removable?

Not 100% sure on this, I just poked around based on your question... If you go to Control Panel ->Device Manager -> Disk Drives and right click on the drive and click Properties there are 5 tabs at the top. If you go to the last tab, called Details, there is a spot in Device Description where you can drop down a whole menu of options... One of those is called Safe Removal Required.

Perhaps that will toggle your issue off?

Probably has to do with the SATA controller on your motherboard. Sata drives can be hot-swappable, so technically they ARE removable disks.
