I'm releasing a new app to elicit feedback from members here.
Sylph is an application that is (currently) functionally similar to ahofle's
CabVol. One of the biggest difference is Sylph is a C++ app that I'm cutting my teeth on and it's specifically designed for my cab. Oh wait... that's not the biggest difference. Sylph controls the main volume control, rather than the Wave volume. (bug: I know the documentation mentions Wave support, but for the damndest reason, it's not working so it's been disabled. Sorry, next version will have it functioning again.)
There's no installation. Simply download, unpack the file into a suitable directory and run. I strongly recommend that you examine the Core v3.cfg file as there is
no GUI configuration and some of the settings are a little strange in order to illustrate functionality. Otherwise the utility is rather simple once it's all set up and going. If anyone needs help in understanding the cfg file, let me know and I'll work with you on it.
Sylph has been tested under my current configuration which is a Windows XP MCE 2002 SP3. It may work under NT and 2000 but that is untested. It's likely not going to work on Vista at this time.
Please keep in mind this is probably the first C++ program I've written in about ten years. I've spent a lot of hours at work building the app and testing everything I can think of to throw at it. There are definitely areas that are in desperate need of a refactor and there's probably a few bugs hiding somewhere. So If you download and run this app, please give me feedback on any bugs you may discover or any improvements you can think of (not OSD related, it's not in there yet).
MD5 sum for Sylph_0-1-1-90.zip is EC5887FCC678B48D3131C50D42EA9B4A
