Hyperspin with X-arcade Dual Controller

Does anyone here know how to set up an X-Arcade Dual Controller with Hyperspin? I know it can be done, I just don't know how

my understanding is some of these front ends are not compatible with the x-arcade. here some front ends compatible with x-arcade---http://www.xgaming.com/support/questions/12/Using+The+X-Arcade%E2%84%A2+With+Other+Versions+Of+MAME%E2%84%A2

I've got it working, I just needed to set it up as a keyboard and not a game controller
