Help configuring emus for Mamewah
« on: September 27, 2010, 02:16:59 pm »
Hi, can I please get some help with configuring emus for Mamewah. I'm just about at the end of my tether. I've tried everything I can think of and all the online guides I've found don't seem to answer my question.

I can get Mame running no problem, but when I try to add another emu the problem is always the same - the emulator starts up but the rom doesn't load so I have to do it manually, which kind of defeats the point of the front-end.

I've entered the correct rom path in the ini files, so I can't think what else it could be.

The emus I'm trying to get running are VirtuaNes, Z26, SpecEmu.

I'd prefer to use Nesticle to VirtuaNes because it's faster on the old laptop I'm using but I hear it's not as configurable for a front-end. Is there a more FE friendly program than SpecEmu for the Spectrum?

If anyone can help with any of those questions it would be much appreciated.

Without reviewing your ini files (which must have a flaw in them somewhere), it's hard to tell what's wrong. About the only thing I can suggest is to have a look at the MAMEWah doco I created some time ago and compare yours to them.

Zorrobandito, thanks a lot for the link! I got it running now!  ;D I was forgetting to put the rom path in the commandline part of the ini file.  Also, I think I had the wrong rom extension on one of them. Anyway, thanks again!

No problem at all, best of luck with a habit that is likely to consume you! :-)
