Fix Scratched Cocktail top...help
« on: September 23, 2010, 10:06:00 am »
Hey everyone, got a problem, need some help. I have a cocktail cabinet with some scratches on the topside, they are not too deep, but there all over the place, you only notice them in the reflection, doesn't effect game play, but I want them gone w/out buying a new top. I've searched this forum as well as the web, I tried jewelers rouge, no go, I tried toothpaste, no go, went to all the stores and home improvement centers and can't find anything. I really don't want to have a new top cut, anyone have any suggestions?

thanks in advance!

I have a Ms. Pac cocktail that the glass is pretty scratched up as well. I talked to a local glass shop, they said they don't have anyway to buff out the scratches, and suggested another local glass shop, but said even if they could do it, the cost would probably be close to getting a new one. Since I'm not to the point of mounting the glass, I haven't made it a priority to check with the other shop. If I can get down there sometime soon, I'll let you know what they say.  I'd also be interested to know if anyone has been able to restore scratched cocktail table glass.
