transferring mamewah problem
« on: August 09, 2003, 08:17:14 pm »
I have mamewah/mame067b running on my pc with xp and it works great. I coppied them to a disk and put them in my cabinet which is 2000 and it does not work. There is no rom list and it keeps saying

run-time error '75':
path/file acces error

I tried deleting the cfg files and starting over but it still does it.
HELP

I'm pretty sure that Mamewah cannot just be "copied" over directly to another computer, it has to be installed to ensure the correct dll files etc.. are transfered.

I'd suggest getting the installer from the Mamewah website, installing that on your 2000 machine, then copying your appropriate config files across (make sure it is the same version of Mamewah, as the config files changed structure recently).  Also ensure that your rom directory paths are the same on the 2000 machine so the config files point to the correct locations.

yea, just download the .zip file (or .rar or whatever) onto your xp pc. DO NOT install it. then just burn that file onto a cd. install it on your 2000 pc.
