Resident Evil Afterlife

The franchise may not have any life left after this one.   Absolutely the worst one I have seen.

If you don't know much about the video game storyline, then I would say the first one is somewhat enjoyable.  The second one was awful, and the third one was bad but watchable.

I don't know if I'd classify any of them as "good" though.

Ive seen all of them except for the new one and I really dislike them, its pretty much just using the name and some of the characters, but the story has nothing to do with the video games. I would not recommend any of the movies, but I think the first one is better than the rest of them.

I really liked the first (great popcorn flick...nothing deep), tolerated the second, and found the third barely watchable.

The whole "3D" thing in the ads has turned me off seeing the 4th in the theater. I'm not paying a 3D up charge for it. I'll wait for the DVD unless the reviews are killer.

Milla Jovovich is the only good thing in the whole series.

Yup, and she recently said the new one made enough money that a 5th in the series will soon be made.

We enjoyed the first three for what they are, but most nights my wife and I usually pick a movie by saying, "Let's watch a bad movie..."

We might go see the 4th one just for the 3D, but we're not sure. We've never gone to the movies and watched any of these. It looks like it could easily be the worst one yet.

Same here. We're Milla fans. We'll watch most anything she's in, good or bad.

We also dig her music. Look her up on grooveshark sometime if you haven't heard her stuff (and also check out "The Mission" by Puscifer, where she sings with Tool's Maynard)

I thought that the last one was alright. Not the best of the series but not bad. The 3D effects are a joke though.

this one was my favorite  ??? i dunno why everybody hates them, its a cool zombie flick with a superhuman protagonist with lots of action and jovovich. I especially loved it because if you ever played resident evil 5, they used a lot of the fight scenes from it and it was awesome to see it in live action  :dunno

^ re5 cutscenes are matrix ripoffs. those in a movie means nothing to re fans.

people wanted a REAL resident evil movie since the first one. like dark and scary or whatever you wanna call it. something like 28 days later. not the crapfest paul anderson made. I still liked first 2 re movies though. would have been better if they werent called resident evil. talk about raping the source material... :dizzy:

You're freaking right. The first one is ok. The second one is kinda like whatever but that guy went ape crap changing the storyline it got so messed up in part 2's ending. Really. I mean... clones? Superhuman clones with psychic powers in a zombie movie? Super duper.

How does that Paul Anderson punk ass keep getting funding for these god awful movies? He ruined Resident Evil, he ruined Alien Vs Predator... Man. Whats next on his "---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- to destroy" list.

Its so easy to make a good resident evil movie too. The source material is right there, jesus.  :dizzy:

Same thing goes for comics. They are rebooting spider man already. I know the 3rd one was nigh unwatchable (topher grace as venom? Has sam raimi never read a comic in his life?) but to reboot it so soon with some clown director mucking things up? Ugh. So sad... :banghead:
Pictures are overrated anyway.

Yeah and Resident Evil COULD'VE had potential if he based it off the games. But sadly that wasn't the case.

Yup. Its like their thought process is like this "Hey, these games were super popular. Lets take the name and completely change them"

Then when they fail they are like, "wow that didnt make as much money as we thought it would". Stupid hollywood.

Except they're not failing and are in fact doing so well that they are going to make another one.  I'm sure they don't review as high as they want, but the execs only care about money and this is a money making franchise.

Well cry me a river, now you know how those book dorks feel that always say "wah that was nothing like the book wah" lol.

LOTR is a good ---smurfing--- movie, know why I say that...because I never read the books  ;D

Couldnt have said it better myself. Name one good Paul W.S. Anderson movie. Yup, cant think of one either...

See, the reason why LOTR is a great movie, is beacause it was an awesome series of books, and they stayed true to the source material. Without making each movie 8 hours long, Peter Jackson crammed as much LOTR stuff in there as possible, and he did a damn good job. Two Towers was really slow at parts, but thats how the book was.
Pictures are overrated anyway.
