xbox upgraded hd issue *FIXED*
« on: September 12, 2010, 03:16:24 pm »
well, i have sucesfully softmodded my xbox using the original hard drive. i ftp'd the disk to my desktop to back it up and even manage to install a few games to the drive (all worked perfectly)

so i decided to upgrade the disk (to hold more games of course) since the backup i had of the original disk had no games on it, i would have to re-install them later. no big deal. i used a 120gb toshiba laptop HD. no issues building the drive and it locked perfectly.

after successfully building the hd installed it and everything. and it seems to work just fine. but now when trying to run some games they just get stuck at the loading screen and the xbox freezes up. games that worked before, both copies instaled on the drive, and disks as well as originals won't load beyond the initial loading screen. games like burnout 3 (copy and HD installed) and rallysport2 (original disk) don't work, but GTA - san andreas (hd installed copy) works fine 100%

i tried re-installing evox but no luck. any ideas? i hear something about "zeroing" the drive for some things to work properly but i'm not sure it it applies in this case since it mostly works.

*EDIT*

it seems some games won't boot unless you clear the cache after installing a new xbox harddrive, so delete files in the E:\cache folder and everything off the X, Y, and Z drives.
