25" arcade monitor > 17" PC display

Otherwise though, it doesn't look too bad to me.  Hell, he seems to have gotten the controls to work nicely!

Not necessarily.  There was just a picture posted, so I don't really know what it started out like.  If it was a gutted cab, then he got it back to stock (sans monitor).  If he's using MAME, that's something.  If he's using an original board set and just put a POS monitor in, then yeah...FAIL

I saw the pic wrong. I thought it was 18 Wheeler. It isn't.

Edit: Nevermind. It IS.

What is it then? Side art, marquee, and screen all look like it.

I doubt he did anything more than plug the monitor into the NAOMI mobo, so the controls would still work fine.

Dunno, because the screen appears to be a different game.

Nevermind, just found a screen that shows it IS the game.

I was expecting the time limit in the upper-left corner, not GEAR, but that is from the game. It's been a long time since last played it (good game).

I'm guilty of doing this with my Golden Tee... I used an RGB encoder and PC monitor to make sure everything else was working before dropping the cash on a new monitor.

Perhaps the old pc monitor is just for now until he can get (afford) the proper arcade monitor? Glad he can still use the machine.

I'm guilty of doing this with my Golden Tee... I used an RGB encoder and PC monitor to make sure everything else was working before dropping the cash on a new monitor.

The NAOMI and Chihiro boards I know both supported RGBHV output, so the boards can output native RGBHV to any PC monitor and it should work.  I doubt any real conversion was done to make this work.

Could do with a little more space on the control panel, but colour th monitor bezel in with a permo marker and you're good.

 ;D

Aren't you supposed to put that little white "base" on the ground and then put the monitor on that?  Then you would get a sore neck from having to look down at the monitor....   ;D
