1/4" flush trim bit with 3" blade

Is this 3" blade practical, or would it flex or maybe even snap?

I wouldn't use the full length of that cutter on one pass.  That's a lot of work for such a little diameter.  My flush cut blade is 1/3 the length and twice the diameter and it still gets overloaded sometimes.  You can find a cheaper blade at a safer size.

Check out #5504.  I have #5503.  If you need an extended length I'd jump to a 1/2" shank

What application is the cutter for Jimmy or was it just a theoretical question?

I wouldn't really want to use such a cutter unless I really needed to and there are only a couple of times when you would need to. I can imagine that the cutter would most likely push off and you would struggle to maintain a good finish, especially if you were cutting over a long length.

It is made to trim laminate or other materials on your work piece. It is not strong enough to make a pattern cut so it would only be useful in very applications where you are trimming laminate or plexi where a regular flush trim bit would not work.
