Video switch help...
« on: August 08, 2003, 03:47:56 pm »
I have a second monitor that I hooked up to my MAME machine with a manual video switch box.  I have the second monitor on a desk next to my MAME so I can still use it easily as a regular computer.

I bought a cheap manual switch box, but when I hook it all up both monitors have shadows, on the icons, mouse pointer, etc... When either one of the monitors is connected directly to the computer the picture is fine. The video cable connecting the switch box is only 6 feet, so length shouldn't be a problem. Do I have a bad switch or do I need to get a switch with a built in video booster?

Here's a link to the switch I bought.

get a digital switch. those mechanical switches are the pits and are prone to issues like you just described.
