Finally got my cap kit! need help finding pots.
« on: August 08, 2003, 02:48:52 pm »
I finally got my cap kit (thanks Bob Roberts) and changed it in about 1 hour.

WOW! All my problems are gone!  it's was painless, and it made the monitor look and act like new!  I'm a very happy camper..

On the other hand, While putting the monitor back in, I managed to bang up 2 of the Pots on the remote board (200ohm and 500K ohm) and now its messed picture..

Bob has them as well (3$ each) but does anyone know where I can get them locally?? (I'm in Toronto)

Thanks.

Beley

Thanx..

I called them, they only have the 500k one.. it seems that 200 ohm is not "standard"..

go figure..

I normally buy all my stuff there, but there has to be something better in such a big city!

Mouser Electronics (www.mouser.com) has them for only 61 cents (US). Their part numbering system goes like this:
323-409V-200
Translation: 323-409 (basic series)-V (vertical mount)-200 (value in ohms)

If you need the horizontal mount just change the "V" in the part number to an "H".
