scrambled picture after exiting mame

Im using an old hp d325 computer with mame, its an amd athlon xp 2800 with 512 ram and a nvidia geforcefx 4 128ram, work ok with most games but i do have a problem, if i try to use d3d for the video render in mame, everytime i exit a game i get a scramble picture and i have to restart my pc, but if i use direct draw i never experience that problem, i fell that most games run better on d3d but due to the problem i have to run them in directdraw. I have to mention that before i was using a petium 4 pc with the same video card and never had that problem, so i guess it must be somenthing to do with the d325 motherboard im using, thanks in advance for any help.

Try to update your video card driver and Directx.

i tweaked the envidia 3d settings since driver and DX are up to date, and it seemed to fix the problem, ill try acouple of games to see if it worked ok, thanks for the help
