WGK4900 Problems

My WG K4900 monitor has died on me, as far as I can tell, R601 is open.  This is a 3.3ohm 5% 10W ceramic resistor. Is this a common failure for this monitor? Is there a suitable replacement?  Would a HOT or flyback cause this resistor to fail?   Power is getting to this resistor, not going through the rest of the circuit.  Any help would be appreciated

Yes, the monitor is certainly old enough for that resistor to just plain crap out. That resistor feeds voltage to the power regulator IC501. It's possible that the horizontal output transistor Q352 may be bad and should be unsoldered to test it. It has an internal damper diode between collector and emitter so it should read 10 ohms one way and 50 ohms the other direction to be good.
