Soooo shipping a coin-op?
« on: August 26, 2010, 03:20:55 pm »
Greetings everyone,

I wanted to ask some of you guys who have made long distance coin-op purchases what the best options are for shipping these machines. I've bought a few from vendors who take care of all the wrapping and shipping so l've never had to deal with it. However there's an item on ebay that l'd really like to bid on, however the shipping quote I got from a guy at NAVL that was almost as much as the item l'm looking to bid on ($450 bucks). I item l'm talking about is a tiny 100 lb cabaret cab.

I also got a quote from precision transportation (the company that shipped one of my pinballs to me in the bast) and the quote was better, but still a little excessive l think at $330.

So can anyone who's done this a time or two give me the contact info, or name of a company that is a little better to deal with?
I'd like to get into contact and work with a company that offers blanketing/palleting/shrink wrapping services if needed in the event l purchase something that the seller doesn't want to deal with any of that.

Thanks for any suggestions you guys can give me!

Hey again Jim how's life?

Thanks for your response,

Well $250 is more reasonable in my mind; that's about what l've paid in teh past for shipping when l've bought from serious vendors that set everything up for me. So let me ask you about Yellow Freight...

Will they pick it up curbside from the seller as far as you know, and would you possibly have a contact # for someone who works there that's familiar with shipping coin-ops?
