From the E-Bay posting:

Quote
NOTE: This Xbox 360 has not been modified to do anything illegal. All customizations are purely aesthetic.

That doesn't take into effect the "Stark Industries" logo, which in and of itself, is copyright infringement, unless he has 'licensed' the use of the trademark.

Dammit.

I thought this was about a new Ivan "Ironman" Stewart "Super Off-Road" game for 360.

That's a nice console, though.

Still has five days. We'll see exactly how much "worth over $1k" it's going to be.

So it looks like Iron Man....big deal.

I'll take a new slim instead.

1K for a one-of-a-kind custom console isn't that bad considering:

- New Xbox Elite system = $250
- Paint and parts = maybe under $100
- Labour, time, and know-how = $100-200 ???

Probably safe to say, all-in-all this thing would cost you $500 to do yourself. Double the "manufacturing" cost, is a much lower markup than what most products you find in any store charge for their goods. (I mean, how much do people mark-up their "custom" mame cabinets for resale? definitely over double)

I wouldn't be surprised if a comic enthusiast, or Ironman video-game developer, publisher, or someone in marketing would be most interested in this.

- New Xbox Elite system = $250

Shouldnt that be:

Old less-than-reliable falcon chipset with no warranty. $125

Yeah, I noticed it was a "Falcon" as well. There's no mention of an X-clamp or anything, either.

its good work, and looks neato, but its not worth that much (to me) I fight the urge everyday to paint either a punisher skull or Venom spider on my Elite

A 'classic' Punisher Skull, or a circa 'Tom Jane' Punisher Skull?  I'm partial to both.  (In fact, I have a Punisher club shirt that I picked up for $100, and have yet to wear.)

The Thomas Jane one is pretty wicked looking.

Edit: Man, four days to go and that xbox is at $3,200 as of this post.

You've got to be kidding me.  $3200 for that?  I am - so - in the wrong business.

Dollars to donuts it was because of licensing.  (I actually pm'd the seller asking if it was licensed, and if so, if a 'certificate of authenticity' was being provided.  He responded, very respectfully, and said it was his 'personal take on it' and he was in no way affiliated with the movie company nor Marvel.)

Sad to see it go.

He listed it as "Ironman" not "Iron Man" at least.

I just checked my E-Mail messages, and I did have his original response, so I sent him another E-Mail telling him I was watching to see how much he got, and asking what happened to the auction.  If I get a response, I'll post it here.
