WTF is a Vtech V-Smile? Waste of money of the year?

I was just browsing some classified game ads. I saw that almost everyone seems to have this computer, and they all want to ditch it. Did I miss something huge   ?
With this many for offer, 50 euro's must be a laugh to ask
Unless it is runs MAME off course....

What is it? Is it fun? Does not look like fun (otherwise you would not need that horrible colour scheme, shapeism).

It's a MAME Trainer for preschoolers.  (Technically, it's a learning gaming system.)  I just sold one for $35.  My 3year old is more interested in the XBOX.  I'm so proud.

By "learning game system" rick means as useless hunk of plastic an actual child would never want but parents somehow think kids will like despite the "learning" aspect of the name.  Educational games all suck, period.  Thus why you see so many for sale.

Modern Warfare is educational too (modern history, tactics, orientation)! And PacMan (culture). And Dalkstalkers (art). I can continue forever.
Maybe the Mario series is not educational, but that is the only title I can think of which isn't. That's a game with moralistic Bible Belt crap (hey rescue the holey housewife!, she's a ---smurfette--- you know?).
Mario is the Nintendo equivalent of Ronald MacDonald. Make the kids greedy and spend tons of money on their demands.

Didn't you also notice the huge amount of other baby stuff for sale? That thing is a baby toy. Babies always want to touch dad's ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, so you buy them a toy that looks like dad's console. Are you a baby? No? Then it won't be fun.

Everyone's selling it because everyone ditches the baby stuff when the kids hit 3 or 4. Garage sales are 50% baby stuff when I visit them.

Meh. I have 3 kids. From ages 2 til about 10, educational games held their interest and got tons of play time. We'd wear out the discs before they stopped wanting to play them.
