...I also have Voice control ADMIN!

Oooooooooh.  This I like.  Who needs a keyboard when your cab responds to the sound of your voice?  Smart!

This is very awesome.  How dark of a tint is on your plexi?  Do you have a bezel behind it?

The plexi was listed as a light grey tint and yes I do have a bezel behind it made from 6mm MDF and covered in black self adhesive vinyl, I think for the kick panel/PC window I will get the dark grey tint and use some kind of cold cathode lighting.

Looks great.  The simple lines make for a very elegant looking cab.  Too bad about the cracking.  Is it the painting and filling that you have to put off till spring?  Very NICE  :applaud: :applaud:

Yes mainly painting and filling, the only thing predictable about the weather at the minute is it will be wet and cold!
plus I want to make the insides look more professional as some bits are bare mdf and if i want to show off the PC components I may make a floating tray to sit infront of a window in the kickpanel.

I'm giving this the big - OND thumbs up!  And yes I did read the comment back in this thread about my (and Pixelhuggers) pedantic natures.  "It's all in the attention to detail" we might say,  we'll yes, and no.  In this case elegant striking simplicity  is the real winner here, nice lines and colour combination top it off.  Good art is not always about perfection of technique  (although skill in technique helps!) , but I reckon it's always about inspiring and delighting the audience.  I like the line of little fan grills across the back of the cab as well (and I'm not even sure WHY I do  :lol ).

Mission accomplished, very nice work

Well, I didn't have those games so I just acquired them and tried them for you and I can report that they work, Virtua NBA has the occasional audio and graphics glitch but nothing that detracts from the game play but with DOC it was in Japanese and I had no idea how to start the game?? but they both start OK and I'm sure with a bit of tweaking they will run fine.

Big thanks OND, it means a lot coming from someone with your building skills  :notworthy:, Oh, and the comment in a previous post was meant to be a compliment!! I just don't have the patience to complete a build to your high standards.

Not meaning to bump you out of hibernation... just thought I'd chime in on how much I like this design.

It almost looks like something that could have been part of Kubrick's 2001 set design. Nicely done.  :applaud:

Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you like it, theirs No danger of me coming out of hibernation just yet, its far too cold and wet!!
I got my wife a camera for christmas so when I start again I'll be able to take some proper pics and I think I am gonna have to swap out the 26" T.V. because it doesn't auto switch to the PC input when you turn it on  :( , CP needs stripping down and respraying because it's crackling where the filler covers the screws, maybe I didn't eave it long enough to set but you live and learn!! But before I do all that I think I need to put a pathway down to my log cabin as when its like this I don't go down there to actually play the thing.
For now I am just thinking and planning on what to do in the summer and I definately think I will be spending less hours on it this year.

Have you tried having it in PC mode with a PC attached, and then turning it off by unplugging power, waiting 30 seconds and turning it back on again by plugging it back in?  I had a TV that did something similar when I used the remote, but if I pulled the plug, it worked flawlessly.

Yeah, I tried it all. It's fine if I leave the T.V. in standby but if it is fully turned off then it wont turn back on to the PC input, I have a samsung 32" that works fine so I may look for a 26" model and try that. Thanks for the advice though.

I have a question, what are you using for voice admin?

Good question, I was looking for some software that could do keyboard inputs but the only one I could find was Voxcommando which is only Vista or Win 7 compatable and my cabinet runs XP so after a lot of searching I found TAZTI which is XP compatable and allows you to run custom programs so I used Autohotkey to make .exe files containing certain key combinations or media controls and create a control for them.
eg. for the voice comand 'close program' I just made an Autohotkey script with the command 'ALT+F4' or something like that, It was my first time using it but after a while I had created enough to get the basic functions working and it is another thing I will revisit in the summer, Autohotkey is very powerful for something so simple (Well maybe not so simple!!) but there is so much it could do that I need to learn.

Thanks for the info, I'll take a look at TAZTI.

I am already familiar with AutoHotKey, but I prefer AutoIt.  I use it all the time.

Well, Has it really been 3 years, my cab didn't last long, well the paint didn't anyway and so I decided to cover it with vinyl which I'm not happy about but that's not why I'm posting today.
I have decided to add  couple of Aimtraks to my cab. I bought them a couple of months ago but couldn't bring myself to rip my cab apart until today that is. I also bought the recoil kits and a couple of psu's for them and I am pretty pleased with them but one thing really bugged me and that was the recoil still firing when your ammo is empty. With some help from Da OldMan I have made a parallel port powered recoil circuit which I'll be able to use with Howard's MameHooker for mame and hopefully Model2 and Supermodel when he implements it :notworthy:
Today I have mostly been repositioning the PC components, placing the Aimtrak IR bar and fixing in the Gun connectors on the kick panel, Anyway enough chat for now, here's some piccy's
