Question about 3D Arcade Cabs
« on: August 09, 2010, 12:04:56 pm »
Do any frontends, other than 3D Arcade, utilize the 3D Arcade Cabinets?

I'm pretty sure that 3D arcade is the only front end that uses them...  You could always screen shot them and add the screen shot into any front end.  Sortta defeats the purpose of the 3D models though.

As of today GameEx does. To be precise it can use them if in x file format. Headkaze had a good go at converting them all to x files although there not 100%

My Khameleon frontend supports 3D models. Unfortunately the set of 3D models is very small.
Old, but not obsolete.

Just out of curiosity, Galagafan, if you like those cabinet models, have you considered just running 3DArcade?  It's easy to be scared away by the "high learning curve" that so many people associate with it, but you may or may not be aware that there are ready-made 3DArcade DVDs... they are up to DVD ver. 3 now... which have been designed and released by generous 3DArcade forum members, which aim to do away with most of that learning curve.  And you will find the forum members over there to be very responsive to any questions you may have.

Just a thought  ;)
