Wells Gardner D9810 - Import into the UK, Any alternatives?

Hi All,

I'm just about to import an Wells Gardner D9810 27" Flat CRT into the UK via EuroCoin Ltd, which are Wells Gardners official UK distributors.

The D9810 costs £375 + vat, but unfortunately as it has to be imported from the U.S., the air freight charge bring the total up to £795 + vat.

That's doubled the cost of the monitor!!

Are there any alternatives available in the UK? I need a brand new open-chassis 27" Tri-Sync or Multi-Sync Flat CRT monitor, that can be plugged in via a normal VGA cable, and can work off of 240v AC. I know thant Pentranic and Hantarex are no longer an option :-(

I've looked at used monitors, and they're no good, too many of them have screen burn, and I don't want to take the risk. Also the monitor has to be 27", as the arcade cabinet that it is going to go in is that size, 25" might be possible, but 27" is my preference.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Some months ago I was on the hunt for a monitor.  I ended up with a 28" 15khz from ebay, but I did get in touch with Brent Electronic who said they were due to get some WG monitors in stock. Their website doesn't list them (and didn't at the time), but it might be worth sending them a mail.  I've contacted them a few times over the last couple of years and they usually reply pretty quickly.
