I am so happy I could do backflips (if I wasn't so heavy and could actually do backflips that is)
I have been bloody miserable for months. I have had terrible arthritis for what seems like ages and my job has been totally killing me. On a good day it's 2.5 hrs drive each way to my office, so I am always walking around like a zombie totally sleep deprived, never getting time to see my family or work on my arcade machine. Generally life has been a bit of a challenge.
Last Thursday I took some annual leave from work (just got back today) to try and catch up on some sleep and return to some sense of normality. I headed to the coast with my wife, kids, dogs and my father. Just before heading off I received a call to say that Deutsche-Bank wanted to offer me the job that I had been interviewed for the previous week

It's about 20 minutes door to door by train so no more driving (There's £200/$310 a month in diesel costs saved), there's no overtime (straight 7.5 hour days Mon - Fri) so I'll be home by 6pm every single day and it actually pays 66% more than my current job so I can actually afford to do more than simply exist.
... And the very best bit... a couple of days into my holiday and my arthritis got so much better it's amazing. I literally feel like I have been in thumbscrews for months and someone has just taken them off me. My hands aren't hurting, my hips aren't aching everything is really positive. It makes me think that there must be a connection with my job/stress/lack of sleep and my arthritis. Either way, It's the weekend, I feel fantastic and there's an arcade machine begging to be worked on in the corner of the room .. Good Times
