price for full set of cab art - what do you think ?
« on: July 14, 2010, 05:52:38 am »
hi all,

i went through the process recently of choosing some art for my cab.  :dizzy:
what im getting printed isnt exactly original ( its a mix of bits and pieces from the web ) , but regardless of art , what im getting
printed is as follows :

full side art for left and right side.
control panel art.
and a marquee.

the vinyl is good quality ( its excellent actually ) , its thicker than normal vinyl and it is completely opaque . i.e - it will cover belmishes like filler holes
on the side of the cab completely as the backing is greyed out , and the front is solid white . so its basically a 2 layer vinyl.
when the art is printed out, its also going to get laminated. so it'll be covered by a clear protective layer and look professional.
for each side art , its going to cost 78 euro. and thats 28" wide and 6' 8inches high hehe  :D

the control panel is also going to be laminated. and that costs 18 euro. and the marquee is costing me 6 euro. they arent charging me for
the cost to change the images from normal jpeg to vector type files ( well, considering the price it doesnt seem like it , as i was quoted 50 euro an hour for software work in another sign store elsewhere, and that wasnt including the vinly and printing costs ), so all in all, it seems like a good deal. what do you think ?
basically the guy said its costing me something like 6 euro per square foot.

would just like to get some opinions on it, but im agreeing to go ahead with it. im going off to pay the 50% deposit now. :)
should have it sometime by wednesday next week.  ;D
I may be a jackass , but im no fool !

I have never ordered, but have made a few enquires

Your prices seem very reasonable, considering the sizes

Like everything though, I would get another 2 quotes if you can

Please make another quality video when you prep and apply the vinyl please, more Chris Abbott please ;)

where i live, i dont have many options when it comes to getting printed vinyl.
there are only 2 places i can go to in total.
ive ordered it anyways and i paid 150 up front so the next payment will be very small. hopefully, the images will come out ok on it.
i didnt get a pre-view of the vector images as he was working on a van at the time , laying down some graphics. so when i collect them next week
it'll be fingers crossed and hope everything looks alright. and making another vid showing how to apply it wont be far off :)

now who is this chris abbott guy and why does he have anything to do with me ?? :)

Nigel from http://www.arcadestickers.co.uk/ has a good reputation around here, very reasonable prices, top quality output and he has a good grounding in gaming/arcade areas.

Some of his work

and plenty more if you search the forum for 'arcadestickers'

I really hope everything works out!

Chris who?  ::)

As an OCRemixer, if you're going to embed an OCRemix video, please use the official video (:

As an OCRemixer, if you're going to embed an OCRemix video, please use the official video (:

2 Things.

1) I will link to any video I like on youtube, if you don't like it that's down to you - take it up with them.  I find it amusing that you are asking for more recognition when I have just openly promoted OCRemix (credited on the link, and more detail on youtube).  I have healthy collection of (bought) OCRemix music and introduce people to it all the time, and I will continue to do this in my own way, not yours.

2) Sorry, but your video is sensory overload - way too much information, detracts from the sublime music.

If you want to talk about it more PM me, please don't further derail the thread.
