The "Party Box" Jukebox *finished*
« on: July 03, 2010, 05:24:05 pm »
Been getting ideas from this site for about 3 years so I figure I should share my next project...

My jukeboxes  have been such a hit I decided to make one with speakers built in so all I have to do is bring it to a party, plug it in and turn it on.
I bought a logitech X540 for it which is a nice sounding 5.1 computer system.

Measures about 25" across with speaker cabinet handles to carry it around.

Here's what I have so far...

Looks good. I built one similar a while back (in my signature). I decided on my speaker output on the sides so people wouldn't be blasted out selecting music. Good luck with the project.

Thanks,
Yeah I was wondering about that. I'm gonna try to angle them a bit and hope for the best.

OK, well after spending all my spare time on this thing (as well as a few hours on the clock... Shhhhhh...) I am finally done! Actually that may be a slight understatement since it took only about 2 weeks.

Finished the cab off with my favorite black laminate with a nice ashwood finish.
Black silicone around the speakers and such, and black T-mold.

Total weight of this bad boy... 64 pounds

It sounds awesome!! The speakers in front are not really an issue either. I'm actually gonna keep this design WHEN I make the next one, in a diamond plate finish  :D

Thanks leapinlew,
Yeah, I really couldn't have done it without Barcrest's AMAZING program!

I got a couple pm's about the design. Sorry there isn't any plans or anything on the design. I just threw it together as I thought it should be.

Nicely done... I gotta ask though, what's up with the Dharma Initiative looking silkscreen in the background?
