D9200 and mame cabinet
« on: August 03, 2003, 09:08:24 pm »
I am thinking of breaking down and getting the D9200.  I just wanted to verify and make sure that this will be the solve all to my isses.  I have a slikstik controller, ArcadeVGA and J-Pac running in a cabinet.  I want to be able to run all the games in the correct resolutions.  Right now what I have running is an old SEGA 25" and I cannot get it to sync to certain resolutions.

What is everyones opinion on the D9200?

I love playing with what I have now I usually just end up tweaking the vhold but I want to get it to be a stable system so someone can play if I am not around.

Well you'll be hard pressed to find someone who is running a D9200 say he hates it :).

Just read through the posts in this forum for the last few months- there's been a ton of questions lately about how the D9200 works with this or that...general consensus is that it's great - but nothing is perfect.  You'll always find something is a compromise.  I've yet to have any serious problems with it.  It's easy to setup and get going, looks great, but YMMV.

Aw crap.  I just measured my box and I can only fix a 25" monitor in it.   Oh well I guess I will just have to tinker with the one I have.

I thought that might be a problem, but didn't want to sound negative  :P  That sucks.  You know the d9200 is not actually 27" wide, right?  Check out the stats at the site (wellsgardner.com) and who knows you may get lucky...

heh sounds like a you have a little challenge in front of you ;)

Good luck, I'd just build a new one if you really want a d9200 ( as opposed to chopping the top off your classic sega...)
