  • Keep it looking originallish!
according to posting it has sound.

Anyone think this may be just a blown power supply. Germany has dirty power sometimes. It should be dual voltage..

If its a quick fix, may be a cheap way for me to get a 38" TV LCD...

This TV worked perfectly until last night. It is dual voltage I have only owned it for a month paid $899 new and suddenly in the middle of watching it last night we heard a loud pop sound then the picture went out but there was still sound. It has the TV wall mount as well as the base option to put it on a stand rather than the wall. It looks great and I have the remote for it please let me know if you are interested and make offers.

  • I break stuff...then fix it...sometimes
Likely a cap has blown in the power supply board. Could be easy, could be more wrong (mosfets or chips blown)

If it's cheap I say do it

  • What Me Worry?
If they only had it for a month and bought it new wouldn't it have a warranty?

  • Oh yes, we did!

Unless it was opened or they caused the failure directly through misuse, abuse, etc.

If not in-store warranty, before that, whether opened....at least, in the US it is that way.

Opened as in the back cover was unscrewed and removed, and damaging a void-if-removed sticker...
