Batons
« on: June 11, 2010, 11:54:50 pm »
Alright, ive been working on my cab the past few weekends, and im at the point where I will be assembling it this weekend. When im all finished im going to make a post over in the projects forum with all the progress pics.

I laminated both the inside and outside of my side pieces, when i mount my batons on the inside will it be worth it to glue them in addition to screws? I will have to try on a test piece this weekend, i just dont know if the glue will bond to the laminate surface?

Also I bought #8 wood screws to screw in the batons, i read its a good idea to predrill and just looking for a recommendation on what size to predrill the hole at.

I am not sure if regular wood glue would work or not but I think epoxy would.

Yep, i did a test today on a scrap piece of laminate and i was able to pull it right off with little pressure 2 hours later. I will try epoxy this week and see how it goes. thanks.
