Ya its a basically a newe sequel to them. Just like new super Mario bros. was to Mario 1,2.3 and super Mario world. I had no idea they were working on this. I'm so glad i bought a wii. between Mario galaxy 2 and all the game cube games i scored for it the other day I just cant keep my hands off it. I had a hell of a good time playing hydro thunder and Rush: The Rock last night. The midway arcade treasures 3 disc sure has some great arcade games on it.   :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

I was never a huge fan of the DK Country games. I played the first one quite a bit, but got bored with it by the time the other two games came out. I'm not sure I even care to play this one. The new Kirby, though, looks awesome.

I agree. The first one kinda got me interested, mostly because of the rendered-sprites style.  But as a platformer, I always found it to be kinda boring to play. It definitely looked neat, but the gameplay felt slow to me.

Mind you, I come from the Mega Man standpoint of difficulty and speed...my favourite platformer...so I'm clearly biased.  :dunno

With talk of a new Zelda, Kirby, and now this, along with Metroid: Other M, and SMG2,  Wii owners have nothing to hang their heads about.  This may be turning out to be a banner year for the Wii.

I agree with ginsu and opt2.

Unlike them, I did manage to finish all three of the games on the SNES, but I tried playing it again a few years ago for nostalgia's sake, and it just bored me.  The only thing that kept me interested when they came out was finding everything and just finishing them for the sake of finishing them.

This game looks almost exactly the same.  It's still basically a 2d sidescroller, with, according to that video, little new to offer, except a bit of depth to the 2d to fake 3d.

Meh.

Kirby looks great, but I think that Metroid looks awful.

Wow...MoM doesn't look all that great at all...

What comes to mind is a cross between the original 2d Metroids, and the Primes...except it doesn't look good.  Perhaps it's the seemingly needless high speed it plays at, maybe the lame looking arm cannon shots.

It just looks...pedestrian.  Whatever it is, it definitely looks like a step down from the Prime Trilogy.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

I can't comment on Kirby.  I've never played any of them.

Kirby looks like its Nintendos attempt at Little Big Planet.  Its not real kirby.  I didnt see him swallow any bad guys and use their powers.

Metroid other M.  Hmmmm....  Its like I want to like it but it seems like a mash up of the Primes and Shadow Complex but doesnt master either.

DKC Returns looks like a great blast from the past.  I will buy it.  :)
