this is one of my favorite games it'd be so sweet to be able to run it but I can't figure any way out so far... i got dolphin and messed around with the settings and everything but way too much lag to really run the game... i assume a ps2 or xbox emulator would be the same.. its pretty much unplayable in mame from what i can tell.. i couldnt find a system 246 emulator... any suggestions?? i'm considering actually buying it off e bay but then would it be complicated?? or do i just plug in the dvd drive and then plug it into my jamma connector??

you'd have to set up your controls with a console that has the game. or make me an offer on my 246 system :)
(they're basically PS2s... you need the whole thing.. it looks like a full computer, has a little JAMMA board attached with a cable, the DVD, the security card for the game, memory card....)

well i hear Dolphin can emulate well now, you'd just need a really good computer

try pcsx2, it runs better for some games.. I'm running soul calibur 3 without a problem, but I'd rather have soul calibur 2 on dolphin because it had Link  ;D

Loved playing as Link in SC2!  I thought he was the best integrated licensed-non-SC character in the entire series. His moves and game-style seemed to "slot-fit" into the rest of the character set...not so much Spawn or Heihachi Mishima.  Even later, the star wars characters didn't feel like they fit in the SC gameplay universe. To me at least.

setting up pcsx gave me such a headache to the point that I don't think it's even worth it... is there an easy to use xbox emulator??

If you already have a JAMMA cab, I think I would buy a board and drive. The stuff is so cheap.

Really? Pcsx2 is really easy to setup, you just need the bios.  They just released a new one that changed most things about the emulator gui.

for soul calibur 2 on dolphin I just found out that the fmv video at the beginning is what makes it crash.  A trick to skip the issue is keep pressing the "start" button repeatedly to skip the movie.  I tried it and it worked.

Here's a video of me running dolphin on my pc, there are some issues with stuttering in the game but once your in the fight it runs flawlessly. Sorry about the quality, I can't figure out fraps and camstudio doesn't capture a smooth picture of the screen... (even when i put it to capture at 60 fps)
