I got my PC talking to the cab ok. Nothing blew up. I didn't let any 'Found New Hardware' stuff take hold.
I've got an XP with a new AVGA3000 PCIe. When I run the appropriate drivers off the Ultimarc CD I get:
"setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware..."
Then I saw at this forum
http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=218800&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1...that someone got around that by downloading the drivers off of the ultimarc site. I got a different error when I tried this (I tried the setup.exe in the root folder of the downloaded zip, and also the setup.exe in the Driver folder)
The error says:
The software you are installing for this hardware:
Ultimarc ArcadeVGA 3000
has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify compatibility with XP. Continuing may destabilize etc etc
NOW, the ultimarc installation instructions warn about having to do a safe boot and forced driver install, but its saying to look for a BLUE screen error in XP. Its hard to tell on the (as of now) wonky arcade monitor if thats what I'm getting. Its an ATI screen with some graphics.
I've got an email in to Andy, but... help! Must slay this dragon!
