LCD in Golden Tee 2005?
« on: May 08, 2010, 07:29:49 pm »
I have a Golden Tee 2000 I am updating to Golden Tee 2005. The 2000 can has a STD res monitor, where 2005 can use med res. Can I use a LCD for GT 2005? How would I go about doing it?

Most off the shelf LCD monitors for PCs and intended for use as televisions will not support medium resolution (EGA).  Some TVs will support standard res (CGA) but usually only via YPbPr component, not RGB.  You can buy LCDs intended for use in arcade cabinets, but they're pricey.

Check what monitor is installed.  It may be switchable to medium res.  Many (but by no means all) are.

It does standard only.  I need a new monitor for another machine, so I was going to sue that in its place and pick up a lcd if it would work.  oh well...
