MP3 Soundtrack for game selection/Screen saver
« on: July 29, 2003, 11:58:09 pm »
Well, I'm looking for some cool tunes to throw into my cab to play when choosing games.  I'm looking for something that'd suit the whole project.  Anyone have any ideas?  Any songs that remind you of the "good ol' days" or anything?

I haven't explored too many front ends, but is there one that would be able to play a sample sound from the game you last highlighted while you scroll through the list.  Something like DDR or Stepmania does when you are picking what song to play next?  I realize this would involve recording samples from the games, but I think it would be pretty neat.

Emutron could support that, with a little scripting of course..
Let me know if you're serious about that, and I'll help.

I've been planning to add a loop for the instrument part of Pac Man Fever (right after the Pac Man arcade sound but before the lyrics kick in).  Dah dah dah dum - dah dah dah dum.

Well, I'm not looking for remixes.  Those were terrible.

I'm talking songs that remind you of back in the day.  Perhaps this should be moved to the MP3 forum?
