Mala questions
« on: April 08, 2010, 02:27:14 pm »
1. Is there a way to add a "number times game played" counter to an existing layout? There are several layouts that I like and want to add this feature too them.

2. If you have multiple emus under Mala, is there a "one button press" to switch between each emu instead of having too right click with the mouse and then choosing "Select Emulator" from the pop-up menu?

First, MALA has its own dedicated forum, so you'd have better luck posting there.

1) I am fairly sure Mala has this feature, go into the Layout Editor, and you can add/remove objects with the toolbar at the top. Find a spot that makes sense and drop it there.
2) In Mala options, you can bind keys/button presses to do what you ask. I think by default its setup to switch emulators by hitting Left or Right on the joystick.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked the layout editor but didn't see an option to add the counter.

As for the other, that doesn't work either. Left or right doesn't do anything. Is there a config setting somewhere for that?

If you're using a microswitch joystick, you'll find the settings here:

Click in "Prev Emulator" and push left on your joystick, then click in "Next Emulator" and push right.

If you are using an analog joystick, you will need to click on the "Joystick" tab, and then select the Left and Right from the corresponding pop-up menus. Make sure the joystick is enabled, too.

Hi there.

In the MalaLayoutEditor, add a text with the "game played" attribute (se attachment).

Cheers,

Got another small question\issue. My NES emu (nestopia) requires alt+x to exit. Is there a command line string to get this to work with mala's esc button press? Or perhaps another way?
