Hi all, As this is my first post i would like to thank everyone on the site for your information and tips as this project would not have been possible without you,

This is my first arcade machine build, here it is in the early stages, with all the panels cut and assembled.

Full controller build credits go to digital systems design uk (Scorpion BDX) and cp art credits go to www.leafstation.com (google: Mamestation)

I am new to all of this (arcade machines and forums) so go easy on me

  Looking good so far. What are you planning for the sides of the cabinet? Paint/artwork/colors

Make sure and take lots of pics

Sides are black with black t-moulding, its for my parents house so i dont want it looking to crazy. And yes i definately did not take enough pictures The project is now very near completion.

But aswell without being able to get on these forums at home its kind of screwed me over because i wanted to post it as more of a step by step. but hey i can save that for the cocktail cab coming next hopefully.

Lookin good so far, only thing i see is that you havent' cut your slots yet for your t-molding.......Any reason why?  Your gonna have to flip the whol machine on its side, so i'd halt the build and cut those before going any further.....

Also be prepared for some difficulty getting the molding into those sharp corners.........

At the time of posting that the slots had been cut, just havnt got any pics. and your damn right it was difficult after glueing and screwing half the panels down. made a bit of a schoolboy error aswell because the router bed was to big to get right up to the angles so ended up using a chisel i ground to 3/32" for the last bits, which was a nightmare. The t-molding went on okay but again your right would not go for the sharp angles again as the angle were the blank panel meets the speaker panel had to make a makeshift rig out of a rachet strap to pull the t molding right into the corner while the glue did its thing.

Will post more pics when i get home, internet permiting.

Open up another window for your replies and you can use the insert image "[img]" feature to post your photos.  Just click on the photo and copy and paste the URL for the photo into img brackets.  Your not limited to 8 and your viewers dont have to click on the photos to see your work.....

You might wanna start thinking abour your lighting for your marquee as well, as far as bracing.  Im interested to see how your gonna mount your marquee, I dont see where your left room for it to sit, unless your just gonna bolt it to the front??

Your hands must be huge, the button spacing on the CP seems a bit wide.....Is that a SF-IV layout?

I'm also wondering how you attached your top and back with no screws showing and didnt incorporate the theory to the front?  You and Mr. wood putty have a date........

Looking forward to more pics, I like the shape of this, wanna see how you make it all come together....

I just wrote a load and lost it trying to show my pictures in the preview, i know this sounds bloody stupid how do you get your pictures to show in your post? do you use [img] or "[img]"

Im afraid there is no light in the marquee, as its going in my folks house and they didn't want one
I made the marquee out of sticky back plastic and .7mm perspex, and im fairly unhappy with it. i did it with the intention of being able to change it often eaisily. I would not do this again, and will sort it out after i get one professionally made.

The controller is a bought, its kind of like one of those x-arcade things that everyone complains about but i have had no complaints with this unit . They are made by a small company in the uk and do custom designs in with the price, or he has 5 or so of his own to choose from.

The back had not been stuck on in those pictures, just put in place and every thing had been filled

But anyway finally got this working, so here are the some pictures:

Also when you post the 2nd icon in the 2nd row above the smileys, the little photo contains the code to post photos, just click on it.....and insert the url in between the 2 tags....
