Mamewah options menu transparency issue
« on: March 24, 2010, 01:09:05 am »
I know this has already been posted here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=87019.0), but I didn't want to bump a dead thread from 2 years ago.
I'm having a similar issue to this, and I've tried going into the layout designer, but it seems like the transparency configuration isn't "sticking" even after saving the layout file and rebooting mamewah. Any ideas what the problem is?
I'm not sitting in front of my machine right now, but I can post my layouts folder when I get home to see if any of you can find any problem with them. It's been driving me insane. I built my machine nearly 6 years ago, and I just recently started going through and cleaning everything up and getting my files cleaned up because I'm looking at building a new cabinet and migrating the system into it (It's a p4 2.4 system w/ 512mb & geforce 5200 @ 128, so it's still plenty powerful).
If anyone can give me a clue as to anything I might need to manually edit within my layout files, that would be helpful.

Okay, I just sat down in front of my machine and took a few minutes to try and get a better description of the problem.
When I start mamewah, it starts on my mame page. The options dialog shows up just fine, the message dialog show up just fine. My next emu is for stella (atari 2600), the menus are transparent, and the message box. same for all of the other emulators. I go back to mame, and now it's doing it.

Here is a link to zip file containing my entire frontend folder, including backups from upgrades. Please let me know if you can help me figure this issue out. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/114401/Frontend.zip

There are percentages of transparency you'll need to adjust in the layout.

Are you talking about the object transparency? I've set it to 255, saved it, and nothing happens.

Is 255 the amount of transparency? I'm at work so I can't check, but have you tried zero?

I've tried both 0 & 255, it keeps resetting itself to 32. I might just try finding some different layouts to test with.

Hmmm, I know I had the same issues, but it was two years ago when I sorted them out, so my memory is rusty.
