MameWah & NMS file usage
« on: July 28, 2003, 10:26:06 am »
Has anyone gotten the NMS file to work (For Atari, z26)?  I created one basically it looks like this:

DisplayName | ActualROMName

I put the file path in the EMU CFG file, but it doesn't work.  I also have the setting on ROM folder only.  I have tried the others, but nothing worked.  I don't have a Dat file (cause i don't know where to get one), does this matter.  MinWah said I may need one, but wasn't sure.  He says not many of us are using this feature yet...  Anyone know anything to get this feature working?

I checked, and you do need to use a DAT file...I'd suggest using Izarams DAT Maker from www.oscarcontrols.com/lazarus for the time being.  Let me know how it goes...

I will change this so that you don't need a DAT file (I think CatVer will only wotk with a DAT too).  I hadn't realised I'd done it like that!  :-[

I did finish a working version of a NMS file!  490 some roms later!

Just for referance for anyone else that is interested in this feature...

1.  You need a working Dat file as well
2.  You need it set to Rom vs Dat
3.  Their can be no spaces between your piping command
  IE,  Display Name|RomName

If anyone is interested in my NMS file just drop me an IM.   Keep in mind this NMS file matches my Atari Roms DIR only since i only have some of the set.  If anyone has a perfect set of Atari Roms, I'll do the NMS file if you can share the info so i can get all the rom names working.

Thanks for comfirming that, sorry I hadn't checked it all previously  :-[

FWIW I have now made it so you can use 'ROM Folder Only' (or any List Gen. Method) with NMS files, and I will improve it so it will trim spaces if this: 'Display Name | RomName' format is used (have you already deleted all those spaces?)
