Here are some in-progress pics. I've been held back a bit on the metals due to a faulty can of paint. Occasionally it would spray pure aerosol and dump the paint on my hand. At least I think that's what happened. It screwed up the finish royally on the side rails and lockdown bar. The first can of Rustoleum Universal Satin black was the best darn paint I've ever used. I'll get the can replaced and redo it all...

Today I did something I haven't done in a little over 10 years - cracked out my airbrush setup. I've had all of my gear stashed in a box ever since my mom disassembled my work area while I was out of town without asking me. I was pretty ticked and that ---smurf-poo--- event is one of the main reasons I drifted from art as a possible career.

Anyways... I've been wanting to implement my airbrush into my restore work for a while, but couldn't find the darn thing. My wife found my box a few weeks ago and it has been sitting in the upstairs living room. Touching up the orange areas just wasn't working out, so I figured what the heck.

I masked off a side of the backbox and went to town with a bottle of opaque orange I had already. I didn't bother with color matching - I had been unsuccessful with acrylics so didn't see the point since I was painting the whole area anyway. The final color is between the orange and red used in the art, so it works IMO.

Dang it felt awkward to use that equipment after all this time. Now that I've done it though, I'm ready to get some of my skills back.

This project is finished. If you want to read details and see more pics, go check out my thread at KLOV ( http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=125974 )

I did have to replace the display after rebuilding my power supply and verifying my display controller. Data East games made it a real pain in the butt to remove the DMD. It is a 2 minute full replacement job on a Bally/Williams. It is a 20 minute+ process on DE.

I am quite happy with the final product. It isn't perfect, but I wasn't aiming for perfect. To a casual player though, it will look pretty darn good - which is what I was aiming for.

Yes she did, and she's long gone now. It played smooth as butter.

I like WHO dunnit?, but it's probably not a great standalone game. I'd pick one up for sure if the price was right, however.

Right now I have a Comet, the Whodunnit, and the Bride of pinbot.

Comet isn't mine, it is at my place for repair and a shop job. The guy who bought the Lethal Weapon asked me to fix it up for him. I had to repair a melted down pop bumper circuit on the CPU, fix the GI, and fix the speech.

Whodunnit is a great game, and works perfectly fine as a standalone. I really enjoyed having Lethal Weapon and Whodunnit side by side because Whodunnit is heavy on thinking, while LW3 is...well...not.  It does have a high fun factor and is definitely underrated. I say that, but Bruce "I like to sink ratings for no good reason" Moyer amended his 1.0 rating at IPDB and it is now an 8.0 pin

Bride plays great, but needs shopped. It will only hang around long enough to clean up and it is gone.

Of all those games, Bride of Pinbot is the absolute last I'd let go. But all those are good games, regardless.

It's okay. It is painfully true that it is a one shot game.
