Cabinet mode is a bit odd
« on: March 18, 2010, 01:34:21 am »
So. I have finished building about 90% of my standing cocktail machine. I know now how much I should have consulted you fine folks here on building it, since its design doesn't resemble anything I have seen before, but that's a long story for another thread.

I'm running TinyXPBeast and Mameplus through Mala with LEDWiz and a TurboTwist2 which I can't get working right (another thread soon to come for that  ::)).

The cabinet mode gives me *two* reversed screens regardless of rotation. I want one that flips.

This has to be easy to fix. I'm not seeing it. Software is the most challenging part of the project for me.

when I want to switch or flip the screen in MALA I just right click and click "switch/flip orientation". I'm not sure if this is what you're asking though.

When I set the video mode to cocktail, I see two game screens on the same monitor simultaneously, one is inverted. Even when I rotate the display, there are two half size screens being shown. Shall I take a pic?

Nevermind. Don't think I can help you. I've never messed with cocktail settings

Also, the games have a good deal of stuttering and skipping. Should I do the Throttle off, Frame skipping thing? How does that go again?

I was really hoping to show this to my friends tonite, but I don't think it's quite ready yet.

well if the game is running but with a little/medium amount of slowdown you can try to improve it with frame skipping. But unless it's just minor the frame skipping won't fix it that great.

frame skip up : F9
frame skip down:F8

if you want the real cocktail mode, instead of setting the video mode to cocktail you should set the cabinet mode to cocktail, not all games have that option since there are games that never came out in cocktail mode. Hope this helps.
