Monitor or isolation transformer problem
« on: March 17, 2010, 12:14:53 pm »
Hi
I've got fully working Wells Gardner K7000 in Mortal Kombat II cabinet. Everything was fine, until yesterday. When I turn the machine on, there is sound like a high voltage connected with monitor interferences and marque light blinking. It last for a second or two. I don't know if it is monitor fault, or maybe I've got problem with isolation transformer (if so, than what part should I replace?)

EDIT:
Now the whole machine doesn't even turn on. What could go wrong with isolation transformer?

Isolation transformer powers only the monitor. If other things are not coming on then the monitor and isolation transformer are ok and to look elsewhere.

often in the power supply it has a connector that powers the marquee and other whatnots (it's a green/black/white connector) it just passes the power on through when the power is applied.

chances are the power supply has cooked, test it with a voltmeter just to be sure.
