A 'rewind' on classic arcade games?  Definitely an interesting concept...

Interesting to see if Mame was involved in some way.

For 400msp ($5USD) you can buy any game for BOTH 360 and Windows.
For 240msp ($3) yu can buy any game for a single platform.
For 40msp ($0.50) you can buy a single credit of play for one of these games.

$3 for an arcade classic isn't bad, but $.50 for a single play is nuts.  At the same time the selection sucks.  About a dozon 'real' arcade games and the rest are 2600 and intelevision.  These arn't a lot of games that make me going 'OH MAN I GOTTA HAVE THAT'.  I'd be more impressed if I could buy a virtual Outrun 2 SP machine and then execute Outrun Online Arcade from it, or the same for VOOT or any of the fighting games.

The core idea here honestly isn't all that terrible, the the decorations and games to pick from are just rather lame.

http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/04/20/xbox-live-marketplace-release-schedule-april-20.aspx

MajorNelson has announced there will be new games added to Gameroom list on the 28th and they are as follows:

Super Breakout, Pitfall!, Megamania , Night Stalker , Rack ‘Em Up, Realsports Volleyball, Basketball.

So that's what?  One arcade game and the rest are 2600 and Intelevision games?  These suck except Breakout.  I really do think that MS is having huge problems getting major arcade companies that still exist onboard for Gameroom.  Sega, Namco, Dataeast, Midway (I guesse Warner Bros now.), and plenty of other companies made awesome stuff for arcades but there's no hint of them here.  It's like MS is pulling most of their stuff from home console's B list. :X

This is a shame because Xbox Live Arcade on the other hand has great stuff.  So, screw Gameroom and excuse me, I'm gonna go play Outrun, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ikaruga, Virtual On Oratorio Tangram and tomorrow After Burner Climax will be on that list.

Unless it gets a major overhaul, NONE of the games you guys have mentioned will ever get into the arcade.

Why?  Well to cut costs/lawsuits m$ is only adding games that have a esrb rating of E.  virtually anything other than pong has a higher rating.
