Games with multiple cd's
« on: March 09, 2010, 03:23:49 pm »
I'm using epsxe through maximus arcade. I was wondering how games with multiple cd's (eg. FFVII) work, if at all while playing them using the front end. Obv, I haven't played a game that far yet to find out myself, so I was wondering if anyone had the answer before I find out you can't...

I'm sure that is supported somehow.  A lot of games ask you to save your game before flipping discs, so you might just shut down the emulator and start it up again from Disc 2.

Just my two cents...
If the program/game isn't specific on which drive it wants the 2nd disc to be in, you are in luck. An image mounting app, such as Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools Lite will allow you to mount multiple images (.iso, .bin, etc) to seperate 'virtual drives'. As far as your computer is concerned, these drives act just like a physical cd/dvd-rom.

If however the game expects the disc to be in the same drive as the first, you're out-of-luck. (You could at least alt-tab out, unmount the first disc, mount the 2nd disc, and try that)
